The Australian Centre for Robotic Vision partnered with industry, researchers and government agencies to develop Australia’s first Robotics Roadmap, released at Parliament House, Canberra, on 18 June 2018.
To ensure the Roadmap remains a ‘living document’ and Centre legacy, we have launched an online platform, Robotics in Australia, to celebrate advances in the development of a vibrant robot economy.
roboticsinasutralia.com.au is envisaged as a portal for industry and research groups to showcase the impact of current and future work across all sectors. The site already contains more than 50 case studies.
It also hosts a digital version of A Robotics Roadmap for Australia. The Roadmap forecasts robotics and automation will create, not replace jobs and boost national productivity by $2.2 trillion over 15 years.
Thanks to the Roadmap, we now know that Australia has more than 1,100 companies operating in the robotics space, employing more than 50,000 people and generating more than $12 billion in revenue to the economy.
The launch of roboticsinaustralia.com.au provides an ongoing opportunity to shine a spotlight on Australia’s strengths in robotics.
