‘On the job’ learning for former school teacher-turned-politician on a tour of our Centre…
Australian Centre for Robotic Vision Director Peter Corke introduces Graham Perrett MP, Federal Member for Moreton and Shadow Assistant Minister for Education and Training, to our researchers and robots on a tour of the Centre’s QUT-based Lab in the heart of Brisbane.
The former high school teacher-turned-politician shares the Centre’s passion for raising the profile of STEM education, enhanced diversity in the field of robotics and computer vision and how this translates into more satisfying jobs and a better future for all.
Mr Perrett met SoftBank Robotics’ Pepper robot, Harvey the robotic capsicum harvester, robo Reef protector RangerBot, and a host of other robotic platforms from robotic arms to the Centre’s mini autonomous car demonstrator.
The Centre welcomes all visitors interested in our vision of creating robots able to see and understand like humans for the sustainable wellbeing of all people and the environments they live in.
