Thanh-Toan Do

Thanh-Toan Do received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Rennes University, France, in 2012. His Ph.D. focused on large scale content-based image retrieval system and its security. From 2013-2016, he was a postdoctoral researcher with professor Cheung at Singapore University of Technology and Design, working on image-based localization. In 2016, he joined the Centre as a Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide, working with Centre Deputy Director Professor Ian Reid. He left the Centre and Australia in 2018 to take up a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Liverpool.

Thanh-Toan’s research interests include computer vision (large scale visual search, robotic vision, image-based localization) and machine learning (deep learning, sparse coding, learning to hash).
