Sam Gosling

Sam joined the centre in late August 2018, hitting the ground running as the logistics officer tasked with the distribution phase of the Robotics Roadmap for Australia. His responsibilities so far have involved procurement, stakeholder relations, distribution, business process management and IT system development. After completion of the project, his focus will shift towards optimising the centre’s intelligence management systems, allowing for various types of data to be better understood, managed and communicated in meaningful and insightful ways.

Sam is a young professional that has recently graduated from QUT where he received bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management. These degrees saw him develop advanced critical thinking skills and knowledge across a range of technical and socio-economic domains. He completed various international educational programs, studying abroad in Germany for a semester, and completing short-term programs in Norway, Iceland, Germany and India.

He has been an employee of QUT since 2015, working as a sessional academic across both the Science and Engineering faculty and Oodgeroo unit, educating students across a broad range of topics, including: engineering design, mechanics, sustainability, economics, project, change & operations management, thermodynamics and more. In addition to his work with QUT, Sam has worked as a Mechanical Project Engineer, Business Analyst, Team Leader and Operations Supervisor in industries such as IT, mining, oil and gas, educational services and tourism.

Sam enjoys working at the interface between technology and people, combining his interests in technology with his passions for morality and well-being. He sees himself continuing to work in environments that use and/or develop technology for the betterment of people and the planet, continually growing his capabilities in organisational management, strategy and sustainability.
