Horia Porav

Horia is a PhD researcher from the Centre’s partner institution Oxford Robotics Institute. Horia visited QUT for 3 months in 201. His main research is centered around improving robot visual localisation under adverse conditions by using generative adversarial networks (GANs) to change the condition and appearance of visual sensor information.

During his stay, he investigated the applicability of cycle-consistency GANs to unsupervised learning of grasping poses and simulation-to-real domain adaptation.
