Feras Dayoub

Feras Dayoub

Feras Dayoub is a senior lecturer with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in QUT.

From 2016 to 2019, Feras was a Research Fellow with the Centre, based at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). In 2019, he secured the QUT position of Senior Lecturer in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. Feras continued his connection with the Centre as an Associate Investigator before becoming a Chief Investigator in 2019.

From 2014 to 2015, Feras was the computer vision lead on a QUT project to enable an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) to detect crown-of-thorns starfish on the Great Barrier Reef using an advanced machine learning system (The COTSBot project). During 2014 to 2016, he was part of the Queensland DAF Agricultural Robotics Program in QUT, where he worked on developing enabling robotics technologies for farm robotics. Between 2012 and 2014, Feras undertook a postdoctoral fellowship as part of the research team on an Australian Research Council Discovery Project (ARC DP).

Feras obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2012 from the Lincoln Centre for Autonomous Systems (L-CAS), UK.
