Dan graduated from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2015 with a bachelor of Mechatronics engineering first class honours. During his time as an undergraduate student, he participated in two vacation research programs the first with Dr Frederic Maire in which he worked on developing a simple vehicle to increase the range and functionality of the NAO robot this lead to two papers on which he was a co-author. During the second vacation research he worked under Dr David Ball developing a cross platform user interface for agricultural robotics. This work lead into a thesis project and a first author paper titled “User interface and coverage planner for agricultural robotics”

Dan started in the PhD program in and his research focused on providing methods for robots in to see in extremely low light environments without the need for additional illumination. He then left to pursue opportunities in industry.
