Adam Jacobson

Adam obtained his bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering in 2012 from the Queensland University of Technology.  In his PhD, he developed biologically inspired techniques for robot calibration and localisation in unseen environments. He was awarded his PhD titled “Bio-Inspired Multi-Sensor Fusion and Calibration for Robot Place Learning and Recognition” in March 2018. Adam was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with QUT, working with Caterpillar, Mining3 and the Queensland Government on vision-based localisation capabilities within challenging underground mining environments.

Adam left QUT and the Centre in July 2019 to join Caterpillar as their Autonomy Engineering Specialist, working from their Brisbane-based Australian Research Centre.
