Ming Xu

Ming received his B. Comm (Hons) at the University of Melbourne and worked as an actuarial analyst for 3 years before returning to academia. He completed his M. Sc. in Mathematics at the University of New South Wales, performing research in Bayesian computation and is now completing his PhD at QUT under the supervision of Professor Michael Milford and Dr Niko Sünderhauf.

Ming is interested in applying the recent advances in scalable Bayesian computation to build loop closure systems in vision-based SLAM systems that are robust to noise and various levels of appearance changes. He joined the Centre in 2019.
